Marie Anotinette Bust #2

This is a large biscuit figural bust of the famous Marie Antoinette made by Sevres in the late 19th century - 1871 / 1890 to be exact. This model is much harder to find than the usual bust of hers - it shows her in a different hair style with an ermine collar going over her right shoulder. A bit of lace showing through the inside edge of the pelt. The bust is made of unglazed bisque or biscuit porcelain and is extremely well modelled with lots of superb details. A stunning piece and the blue ground colored base with the gold trim only brings it out even more. Just in case on didn't know who she was her name is on the front of the base Marie-Antoinette :) The piece is in superb condition but could use a bit more of a cleaning than I gave her. A smaller version of her likeness than the others I own! The bust is marked on the back by her shoulders as shown with the impressed Sevres mark in a rectangle triangle with the monogram MV next to it, the initials AD then 2 90 next to that for 1890 and incised Marie Antoinette de Tuanou (can't quite figure out the last part) and the artist name Pajou (Augustine) who this bust is sculpted after. He originally made the model in Marble I believe. I have never seen this bust with that entire inscription before. The udnerside base has the green Sevres mark for 1871 and the Dore a Sevres mark for 1890 under it as well as an artist mark and the usual incised marks one finds on authentic Sevres pieces of this period. Thee piece is 10.75 inches tall, about 6.75 inches wide and 4 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
