Plate w/Angels and Monogram

This is a really nice plate made by Sevres for King Louis Philippe at his Chateau des Tuileries in the mid 19th century. The Tuileries Palace was a royal and imperial palace in Paris. It was the usual Parisian residence of most French monarchs, from Henry IV to Napoleon III, until it was burned down by the Paris Commune in 1871. The plate is superbly hand painted with two cherubs flanking the King's LP initials under a crown with a leaf wreath around them. Some clouds in the background and a mandolin . guitar with some sheet music lying on some flowers below. It's a nicely hand painted scene! The rim has a cobalt blue ground color to it with some nice floral gold design over that. The cobalt blue and gold combination is always a stunner! The plate is in great condition with some wear to the gilding on the very edge but it displays perfectly. The plate is 1.125 inches tall and 8.8755 inches in diameter. it is marked underneath with the circular light blue Sevres 1844 mark with the King's initials, the red mark fo the Chateu as well as the usual incised / impressed marks and some marks in green as well one often finds on Sevres pieces.
