Salopian Cup & Saucer

This is a petty hard to find cup and saucer set made by Caughley during their early period in the 18th century. Each is hand painted with an under glaze blue floral sprig design sometimes called the Chantilly or Locre sprig pattern and a blue trim. The rims have a basketweave design to it as well and the cup a nice handle shape. The set is in good condition with a tiny rim chip to the saucer and a small chip to the bottom terminal of the handle on the cup as shown. Both have some stray blue marks from when they were made. They display very well and are a rare survivor from their early period. The set is marked underneath with the under glaze blue S mark as shown. The cup is 2.25 inches tall and 2.875 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 4.875 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $349
