Woodgrain Saucer #1

This is a superb saucer made by Nymphenburg in the 18th century. It is handpainted with a woodgrain design all around and a scene in puce on the center meant to look like a piece of paper nailed to the wood background. One corner ripped off the paper to make it seem more real. This type of design was not used very often and only very few makers used it (i.e. Niderviller, Doccia, Royal Vienna and Nymphenburg). It is marked with the impressed shield mark as well as an impressed 2. The saucer is in superb condition with wear to the gold trim on the rim and a teeny chip on the footring. The saucer is 1.25 inches tall and 4.75 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $549
