Reticulated Weichmalerei Plate #1

This is a superb plate made by Nymphenburg in the late 19th century. A very typical shape for them during this Art Nouveau / Jugendstil period with the flowers being their answer to the Weichmalerei flowers at KPM. The plate is superbly modeled with a fancy rim design including five reticulated panels with a gold scale design next to them. There is one large polychrome floral arrangement to one side and two smaller ones to the other plus a small single flower. Lots of nice gilding. There are even the raised white enamel highlights to the flowers just like KPM used. A stunning example! The plate is marked with the rare orange shield and crown mark with Koeniglich above and Nymphenburg below. This was used in the late 19th century. There are also some Roman numerals and numbers plus the impressed shield mark with the crown above as shown. The plate is 1 inch tall and 8.375 inches in diameter. It is in great condition with just a touch of wear to the gilding to the very edge of the plate and a tiny chip to the footring as shown. I own a second plate matching this one if anyone is interested in a very rare pair. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
