Sieck Cornfield Scene Dinner Plate

This is a hard to find dinner plate made by Nymphenburg in the early 20th century during the original period in about 1906. The plate design itself is from the Pearl service with those little "pearls" along the edge - it is an old design dating back to the 18th century. The central painting however was first done by Rudolf Sieck around 1906. It is titled wheat field - a very Art Nouveau feel design of a field with wheat in it as well as poppies and other flowers along the front edge and trees in the background. The blue sky has a single cloud in it. There is a nice gold trim along the edge of the well. A really nice plate that is hard to find especially from the original period and in this size! It was likely painted by the artist himself! The plate is 1.25 inches tall and 9.75 inches in diameter. It is well marked with the printed shield mark with the word Nymphenburg underneath, the impressed shield mark, the usual black numbers, RUD. SIECK KORNFELD and the red Gesetzlich geschuetzt mark which means it is from this early period. The piece is in great condition with some very minor wear.
