Rudolf Sieck Dessert Plate

This is a great dessert plate made by Nymphenburg in the early 20th century during the original period in about 1906-1908. Hard to find the pieces from this time period! The plate blank design itself is from the Pearl service with those little "pearls" along the edge - it is an old design dating back to the 18th century. The central painting however was first done by Rudolf Sieck around 1906/1908. It is titled Birch Trees in Early Spring. A very Art Nouveau / Jugendstil feel design of some birch trees in a field with pine trees and mountains in the background. There is a nice gold trim along the edge of the well. The plate is 1.125 inches tall and 8.5 inches in diameter. It is well marked with the printed green shield mark with the word Nymphenburg underneath, the impressed shield mark, as well as RuD. SIECK BIRKEN im VORFRUEHLING and the red mark Gesetzlich geschutzt (copyright). Also some black letters and numbers and old dealer stickers. The piece is in perfect condition with some very minor use marks but as good as they come from this original period over 100 years ago. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $499
