Mushroom Seller Figurine

This is a nice figurine from the street seller series first modeled by Bustelli in 1758 and made by Nymphenburg in the early 20th century. It is a figure of a lady selling mushrooms with one in her hand and a bunch of them in a basket in front of her as well as another one on her back. The lady is nicely dressed in a traditional outfit with a hat on her head and a nice skirt with a white apron on the front. The base has a tree stump to the back as a support. This is the polychrome hand painted version which is much harder to find than the white one. The piece displays nicely but has some work done on the outstretched hand - it was broken off from what I can tell. It was done well and is not distracting at all. There is some crazing to her white apron which is unusual on figures like this but I ahve seen it on some of their early animals. One of the bows on her shoe is missing a loop. Still a really nice figure that is not that easy to find at all. The figure is marked on the front of the base with an impressed shield mark as well as on the underside plus the model number 50 over 0 and the GERMANY in green as shown. A nice early version of these redos of the original 18th century figurines! The figure is 7.75 inches tall, 4.255 inches wide and 2.75 inches deep.
