Palace Scene Plaque #2

This is a plaque made by Nymphenburg around 1850. They plaques are very rare and this one here has the perfect scene to it for this maker! It is hand painted with a scene of the Nymphenburg palace / castle with the famous swans in the front and a couple going for a walk on the right side. Lots of greenery to it and a fountain in the center plus clouds in the sky. It is very well painted with lots of nice details! The plaque has a gold rim around the edge and a period frame which is original to the piece. The plaque is in perfect condition with some wear to the gilding along the edge. The frame is not perfect anymore but looks nice and I think it's a good thing to have its original frame though one could easily add a new one to it as well. The back of the piece is not marked except for the by the painter but I ahve a matching other plaque that is marked and also painted by the same painter. It does ahve some incised marks and it states gem. (for gemahlt which means painted by) and then the painter's name which is hard to make out plus the year 1850. When I asked the Nymphenburg expert he said it might be by Winkler who painted at the factory from 1845 until 1851 but since no known signed pieces exist it is hard to know for sure. The plaque is 3.875 inches wide and 2.875 inches tall without the frame. The frame is 0.625 inches wide. A truly superb piece!
