Pearl / King's Service Tea Cup & Saucer

This is a rare tea cup and saucer made by Nymphenburg in the 20th century. It is hard to find these full sized sets for this service! The set is from the King's or Pearl service made for the electoral court around 1792-1795 designed originally by Dominikus Auliczek . The original set is still in the possession of the family and thus any pieces of this design are versions from the 20th century. The two pieces are 12 sided and have the pearl relief design to the very edge (refers to the little blue pearls painted on). Hand painted with three scenes in black on the rim of the saucer and three scenes around the cup as well as a superb gold and blue trim. Really one of the nicest designs for a service ever I think! The saucer is 0.875 inch tall and just under 6 inches in diameter. The cup is 2.125 inches tall with a diameter of 4 inches. Both are marked with the green shield mark with the name Nymphenburg underneath as well as some impressed numbers under the saucer and initials of the painter under both. The set is in superb condition with a small chip to the foot ring of the saucer as shown. Does not affect the piece and the set displays perfectly.
