Small Blue Ground w/Fancy Gilding Cup & Saucer

This is an amazing demitasse sized cup and saucer made by Nymphenburg in the early 20th century. It is probably the nicest small set I have owned from this period with a perfect blend of a superb shape with a matte blue ground color and lots of superb tooled gilding. Truly a master piece! I always really like the matte ground colors but they are so rare that one does not see them often. I think they look much better with the nice gilding than a shiny ground color. The inside is fully gilded as is the handle. The cup is 2.75 inches tall including the handle with a diameter of 2.375 inches. The saucer is 0.875 inches tall and 4.125 inches in diameter. Both are marked with the underglaze green shield mark with the word Nymphenburg underneath, the usual impressed marks and some black letters and numbers under the cup as shown. The set is in perfect condition with just the tiniest amount of use marks to the gilding. A super cute set that looks much nicer in person! Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $599
