Superb Fork

This is a super rare fork made by Nymphenburg in the 18th century. I have never seen a set but there is one in the Nymphenburg book though they are beat up and restored. The handle of the fork is porcelain which is handpainted with their nice flower trellis and bird pattern as well as lots of flowers and some gold trim on top of a relief design. A superb design to look at! The metal parts are solid silver and the fork is really thickand heavy. The metal goes all the way through the handle and a little piece comes out the other end which is missing in this case. The metal parts seem to be original which is nice and they are amazingly sculpted with a topless bust of a lady forming the top part and the bottom is some sort of dolphin creature or snake with some leaves in between. Amazingly the silver on the fork is marked which I ahve never seen but I know nothing about these marks so if anyone can shed some light on it that would be awesome! The fork is in great condition with some very minor oxidation to the silver and the little silver end piece is missing as stated before. The porcelain is perfect with some very minor wear to the gilding. The porcelain is unmarked which is always the case but definitely by Nymphenburg likely around 1770 maybe a bit earlier. The fork is 7.875 inches long of which the handle is about 3.375 inches. I also own the knife but since the painting is a bit different and the ferrules don't match I think they were not originally a set so I am selling it separately. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
