Atlas Design Single Cup & Saucer

This is a fun cup and saucer set made by Nymphenburg in about 1780. Both pieces are hand painted with the rare and famous Atlas design which was inspired by a woven textile pattern of the time. The cup has the brown trim along the edge while the saucer has none but I believe it used to have the gold trim - they look perfectly together! This is a very rare find especially from the original period and highly sought after by collectors. Just a fun and colorful design that I believe can still be bought new nowadays at the factory. The cup is 2.375 inches tall and has a diameter of 2.625 inches and the saucer is 1.375 inches tall with a diameter of 5 inches. Both pieces are marked with the impressed shield mark underneath as well as an incised l as shown. The mark is the small oval one used around 1780. The set is in great condition with a very minor chip to the inside edge of the cup as shown which does not distract at all and the usual minor manufacturing flaws normal to these early pieces! Really a neat pattern that looks much more modern than it is. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
