Rare Tulip Vase

This is a rare tulip vase made by Nymphenburg in the very early 19th century around 1803. A fun shape and left in the white which would have looked amazing with those crazy tulips from the tulip craze of this period! The piece is modeled with a amphora shaped neck with a relief design to it. That part of the vase is only about as deep as the neck is long and then it is separated inside from the bottom part. The middle section of the vase has four openings, two are in the shape of a little girl growing out of a horn of plenty type thing and holding a basket which is the opening of the vase and two are simple openings but have a nice relief face t the edge under them. The bottom part has more relief designs to it. It is a stunning piece and not something you will come across agai anytime soon. Put some colorful flowers in it and you won't find things that will look much nicer! The underside is marked with the impressed shield mark, a letter K incised and a letter I with two dots impressed next to it. Typical mark of this period. The piece is great condition for the age with some firing cracks to the insides of the openings mostly and along the sides of one face relief, yellowed restorations to chips along the edges of the simple openings as well as the nose of a relief face, a chip to one of the simple openings and the nose of the face below it and a tiny chip to the edge of the center section. Nothing bad really and it would be a simple fix if need be. It displays beautifully! The entire piece is is 9.5 inches tall, 8.75 inches wide and 7.5 inches deep.
