Superb Soup Plate

This is a really elegant deep / soup plate plate made by Mintons for Tiffany's & Co. in New York during the later 19th century. The plate is superbly decorated with a deep cobalt blue ground color as well as a stunning turquoise ground color rim. There is lots of gold trim to it most of which has raised designs to it and the best part for me are the pate-sur=pate flowers. Amazingly detailed and it msut ahve been a lot of work getting one of these plates decorated! The medallion in the center is also a work of art! The plate is 9.625 inches in diameter and 1.625 inches tall. It is in superb condition with some minor age related wear and crazing to the turquoise color as shown. That is a common issues with this color! It displays perfectly! The piece is marked underneath with the purple Mintons mark as shown, a red H 804 and some painter's marks as well as an impressed Minton and some other marks.
