Oyster Plate

This is a majolica oyster plate made by Minton in 1867. This plate is superbly modeled with a relief deisgn of clams, conchs, scallop shells and seaweed. It has six turquoise color oyster shell wells and an iridescent green center. The plate is marked on the back with various marks including MINTONS and impressed English date stamp registry mark along with some other marks and a number 1323. The piece is in great condition with a few small manufacturing flaws like tiny spots of missed glaze or little zits and on the underside are three stilt marks that were removed and took a bit of glaze off in the process which is common. The plate is 0.75 inches tall and 9.125 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
