Basket & Cover w/ Sea Shells

This is a really nice lidded basket made by Minton around 1820. It has a nice shape to it and is hand painted with a marbled green ground color with a scene to either side. One is a bird scene of a signle bird in a landscape surrounding while the other is a really nice sea shell scene including a few shells and some seaweed. Both scenes have a bit of gold trim around them. The top has lots of white 3D flowers and leaves applied to it and the handle. A bit of gold trim to the handle and the central flower finial of the lid. The cover has holes in it for either flowers to sit or so it can be filled with potpourri and smell nice. Not sure which one but they would both work. Really a very nice looking piece. The piece is in good condition with some damage to the applied flowers, wear to the gilding mostly along the edge of the cover and the handle has three breaks in it which have been fairly well restored so it displays perfectly. A couple of small spot of paint flaking which is pretty normal on the early stuff and doesn't distract. The basket including the handle is about 4.75 inches tall and 5.25 inches in diameter. Marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark as shown meant to copy Meissen off course and a red mark that might be a star. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
