Queen Victoria Royal Service Plate

This is a superb and very rare plate made by Minton in 1877 according to the date code. Mintons was famous for this amazing turquoise ground color said to be as close as possible to the Sevres bleu celeste that is so amazing. This plate is quite rare as it is from the royal service of Queen Victoria which is just amazing. I could not find any for sale except some modern reproductions but did find exactly type of this plate in the royal collection with the same date. The service was a favorite of the Queen and is still used today to decorate the tables at state banquets! The plate is made of their famous bone china that is very white. It has a lobed edge with the rim having that superb turquoise ground color to it with three cartouches of national flowers - roses, clover and thistle hand painted on white ground. They are surrounded by a tooled gold trim with oak leaf garlands / swag in between. The best part however is the central design of the VR ( Victoria Regina ) monogram in gold on turquoise ground with a gold band around it, a superb crown above and a floral wreath with a gold bow around the central medallion. The entire piece is just amazing looking and it being a royal piece makes it even more special. It does not come much better than this! It looks stunning! The plate is 0.875 inches tall and 10 inches in diameter. It is in superb condition with just some very minor age marks. It displays perfectly! The plate is marked underneath with the impressed Mintons mark as well as the date code of a circle in a square plus some other impressed letters as well as painter's marks as shown.
