Parian Clorinda Figurine

This is a parian ware figurine made by Minton in 1849. It is a seated Clorinda in half armor after being wounded by her lover. The piece was created by the famous modeleur John Bell in 1848 for the World Exhibiton I believe. The figurine is superbly modeled with lots of detail. A truly amazing figurine and not as common as the Dorothea piece by him. She is still holding her shield while the sword is lying behind her and one glove and her helmet by her feet. The figurine is in great condition with the tip of the swords behind her missing, a small firing crack by the end of the sword's sheeth and two small chips in the back bottom base under his name one of which seems to be from the making. She is 13 inches tall, 5.75 inches wide and 7.25 inches deep. The base is marked with the typical impressed marks of Minton including the date code for 1849 and the number 12/49. The back of the base is marked John Bell February 1848. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
