Amazing Butterfly Cup & Saucer

This is a superb cup and saucer made by Minton in 1869. An unusual cup with a really cool butterfly handle and hand painted butterflies isntead of transfer printed decoration which was much more common. It is one of the nicer and more fun cups I have ever come across by them! The cup and saucer each have three hand painted butterflies on them and a nice gold trim. The handle is really fun but not the most practical thing in the world. That is decorated in transfer print on the outside wings and gilding in the center. The set is in superb condition. The cup is 2.5 inches tall and has a diemter at the top of 2.625 inches. The saucer is 0.625 inches tall and has a diameter of 5.5 inches. Both pieces are marked with a red pattern number G235 with an artist mark below that, impressed MINTON and some other marks as well as a registration mark that is very hard to see. Material used is ceramics, day of the month is 7, parcel number is 2, year is 1869, month is April if I read it all correctly. A really nice cup and saucer! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
