Rare Polychrome Floral Knife & Fork Set

This is a hard to find knife and fork set with the porcelain handles made by Meissen in the 19th century. Both handles are hand painted with a polychrome floral arrangement on the front and back side as well as a single flower and a bug to both sides as shown. Gold ring on the end where the ferrule is. They are marked udnerneath the ferrule but you can see part of the mark on one of them as well as a painter's number. The metal parts are made of iron but the ferrules appear to be silver. The set displays perfectly with some oxidation to the metal blade and fork. The blade of the knife is marked W. Lichtenfels over Karlsruhe. One does not see knife and fork sets by Meissen very often at all. A great example to have especially with it being a matching set hand painted with polychrome flowers. The knife is about 8.25 inches long while the fork is about 7.125 inches long with the visible porcelain being about 3.25 inches long. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $349
