Bird Scene Serving Bowl

This is a really nice serving bowl / dish made by Meissen in the later 19th century. Not often one finds a dish with this design to it. The bowl is hand painted with a large bird scene in the center including two birds sitting in a bush. It has a relief design to the rim with four bugs / butterflies in between that looks really nice. Gold trim to the nicely shaped edge. The dish is in great condition with just a spot of stacking wear to a leaf on the bush as shown. The bowl is 1.75 inches tall and has a diameter of 8.625 inches. It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords as well as the usual impressed numbers common to Meissen pieces of this period as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $599
