Lady Figural Cane Handle

This is a rare cane handle made by Meissen in the 19th century. It is of a lady's head with the body making the shape of the handle. The body has her two arms in front in a muff and she is wearing a fur scarf. Nice blue dress and a bonnet on her head. Lot of nice modeled detail and the usual quality of hand painted detail one expects from Meissen but finds nowhere else. The handle part has a gold trim and some scattered flowers on it with some fancy gilding where the hole is to attach to the cane part. Could be used for an umbrella or Parasol as well. The piece is in great condition with some minor use marks and wear spots. The worst is in her shoulders in the blue of the dress and in the center of the fur between her breasts. Some use marks to the white of the handle itself by the scattered flowers as shown. The piece is 3.625 inches tall, 4.25 inches long and 1.5 inches wide. It is marked on the inside with the blue crossed swords mark as shown - a bit hard to see but it is there and first choice. The inside hole diameter is 0.5 inches. Reside of an old cane in the very top of the inside so this was definitely used as intended which explains the little bit of wear. A very elegant cane handle! Price is $999
