Harp for Meissen Choir #1

This is a really interesting piece made by Meissen around the later 19th or early 20th century. It is a fun piece made for the Meissen choir, which was called Hyppokrene . The Meissen choir was staffed only with Meissen employees and was started in 1860. Today the choir has the name " Blaue Schwerter ". The little badge / plaque was given to the members or used to adorn some of their items I would guess as it has little holes to attach it to something using tiny nails or sew it onto something. The piece is in the shape of a harp with little horse heads at the terminals. Amazingly detailed and super fragile so it is a wonder one has survived! The relief detail is highlighted with lots of gilding. The piece is marked in the back with the blue crossed swords as shown as well as a gilder's mark. Fun piece with a nice provenance and an interesting connection to the choir that is still around today. The piece is 1.625 inches tall, 1.25 inches wide and 0.125 inches thick. So super thing and fragile. It is in great condition with a tiny chip to the mane of the horse on the left not visible when on display! Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $399
