Reticulated Cobalt Scenic Plate #2

This is a superb plate made by Meissen in the late 19th century. It is handpainted with a detailed scene in the center of a rider on a horse talking to a man holding a set of bagpipes with a shepherd attending to his flock in the background and two cows to the side. Lots of detailed greenery all around. The rest of the well has that superb deep cobalt blue we all love, there is some superb gilding around the scene and at the edge of the well with an amazing reticulated trim highlighted with gilding and blue flowers finishing off a perfect piece! This is one of the best plates one can own from this period! It even has some fancy gilding underneath as shown in the pictures which Meissen only did on their best pieces. The plate is in perfect condition. The plate is marked with the underglaze blue crossed swords mark underneath as well as the usual impressed numbers and letters one finds on Meissen of this period. It is 1.25 inches tall and 9.875 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
