Damaged Cobalt Blue & Floral & Scenic Caddy #2

This is a nice tea jar or lidded vase made by Meissen in the late 19th or early 20th century. It is hand painted with a superb cobalt blue ground color with lots of fancy gilding on it and has three cartouches of which two are hand painted with floral arrangements on white ground and the last but certainly not the least with a superb Watteau style scene with two lovers in a landscape surrounding. The legs are nice as well with a branch going up them ending in raised flowers on top. The lid has the same cobalt blue ground with fancy gilding combo with a nice finial to it. The piece displays nicely but has been damaged. The lid was broken and relgued as shown with a small piece missing. Could be done much better. The main body has two flat chips to the top edge as shown and two of the legs were broken off the body taking with them some of the main body. Oddly enough that dmage is not obvious unless you look closely and could be fixed perfectly. Major damage but not outside of a good restorer's abilities! Still looks amazing when on display. The tea caddy is unmarked which is fairly normal since the blue would hide it. Sometimes these are marked underneath one leg but that can rub away over time since that area is not glazed which is probably the case here. Still definitely made by Meissen during this period. The piece with the lid in place is 6 inches tall and has a diameter of 3 inches. Please email me for more information.
