Royal Green Watteau Service Cup

This is a rare treat - a tea cup from the green Watteau ( grünes Watteau ) service made for the royal court of Saxony by Meissen in the 19th century. This cup was part of the royal court set! It is hand painted with a mostly copper green Watteau scene of a couple in a landscape surrounding on both sides as well as a floral arrangement to the front and three small flowers by the handle. Nice handle shape with some gilding to it, gold trim to the edge and four Gotskowsky relief panels to the paste in between the paintings. The original set was modeled by J.F. Eberlein in the mid 18th century so this cup is a later replacement piece. I have owned a coffee cup before but never a saucer which is odd. The cup is in superb condition but no saucer :( It is just under 2 inches tall and has a diameter of just over 3.25 inches. It is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark underneath as shown as well as Kgl. Hofwirtschaft in black with the year mark for 1894 below it as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $399
