Cobalt Side Plate #1

This is a lunch or side plate made by Meissen in about 1840. It is handpainted with superb floral arrangement with bugs in the center and the cobalt blue rim has three cartouches of flowers on it surrounded by a very elaborate gold trim. Nice gold trim to the rim and inside bowl rim. It is rare to find these pieces from the earlier time periods as most of them are 20th century or late 19th century. The plate is in great condition with a tiny chip to the footring which is of no importance. It is marked with the long underglaze blue crossed swords mark underneath as well as an impressed 16 or 1c or H and a 3. The plate is 1.25 inches tall and 8 inches in diameter.
