Large Cobalt Blue, Gold & Floral Saucer

This is a really nice large saucer made by Meissen in the mid 19th century . You can tell byt the style the flowers are done in that it is an earlier piece. The saucer is hand painted with three panels of floral arrangements on white ground with a bug in each scene as well. The panels are surrounded by some fancy gold trim with the rest of the piece having a deep cobalt blue ground color and some more fancy gold trim to the inside rim and center and even some gold trim to the white outside since it is a deeper saucer style. Amazing! That blue and gold combination has to be among the very best in the porcelain world! Looks amazing. The saucer is in great condition with some wear to the gold trim on the verye dge and larger circular flaw in the cobalt blue ground common on these earlier pieces. Not sure what causes those but it seems to be a manufacturing issue or impurity in the cobalt color. Not really damage but large enough to warrant mentioning. Not visible unless you hold it at the right angle to the light so it displays superbly. An almost chip or bruise or whatever you want to call it to the foot ring underneath as shown. The saucer is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark underneath as shown - first choice. The piece is just over 1.375 inches tall with a diameter of 5.87 inches so a larger example.
