Cobalt Blue & Floral Slipper

This is a superb and fun piece of porcelain made by Meissen in the later 19th century. It is in the form of a shoe / slipper / pantoffel which is hand painted very nicely with a polychrome floral scene on white ground on the front of the show with some fancy gold trim aorund it. The ret of the outside of the shoe has a cobalt blue ground color to it with some more fancy gilding to the edge. The edge of the sole is a light purple color and the underside is off white. The inside of the piece is white. The shoe is in perfect condition with two lines to the underside from firing supports from when it was amde and typical of these pieces. This is the largest version of the shoe being 2 inches tall, 6.375 inches long and 2.625 inches wide. It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark as shown. First choice.
