Chicken Scene Plate

This is a great plate made by Meissen in the mid to late 19th century. It is hand painted with a superb chicken scene in the center including a rooster, two hens and two baby chicks in a landscape surrounding. The rim has some cute bugs painted on it as well as one of their nicer fancy gold trims. That gold trim is more common on cobalt ground pieces they made. The edge is a bit wavy rather than just plain round which adds to the piece. The plate is marked with the underglaze blue crossed swords mark underneath as well as the usual impressed numbers. It is about 1.25 inches tall and 8.25 inches in diameter. It is in perfect condition. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $699
