Cherub w/ Laterna Magica & Hurdy Gurdy

This is a rare figurine made by Meissen in the later 19th century. Not a model I have come across before! The figure is of a cherub playing the hurdy gurdy while also carrying a laterna magica ( magic lantern ) on his back. The cherub has two wings, is wearing a large hat and has a pink cloth covering his mid section while standing on a typical base with a tree trunk in the back and gold scrolls around the front edge. The figurine is in superb condition and is 4.125 inches tall, 1.875 inches wide and 2.125 inches deep. The piece is marked underneath with the blue crossed swords mark as well as the usual impressed and incised marks as well as a painter's number 61. in red as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $699
