Applied Forget me Nots Cup & Saucer

This is a really nice small cup and saucer made by Meissen in the later 19th century. Both are decorated with lots of applied 3D forget-me-not flowers and their leaves on the outside of the cup and bottom of the saucer. Both the cup and saucer sit on six feet and are hand painted with flowers on the inside of the cup and top of the saucer plus a gold trim to the nicely shaped rims. Nice handle to the cup highlighted with gilding and a pink bow and flowers to the top terminal. The cup and saucer are in great condition for this sort of decoration. There is always a little bit of damage and here we have three chipped leaves and one chipped flower plus a tiny chip to a foot on the cup. None are obvious and the piece looks great. The saucer has two chipped leaves and three chipped flowers to it. All in all in better shape than most of this type of decoration I ahve come across over the years. A very nice set to display! Both are marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark underneath as well as an impressed number under the saucer. The cup is 1.75 inches tall and 2.375 inches in diameter. The saucer is 0.875 inches tall and 4.25 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
