1750 Bruehlsches Allerlei Plate #2

This is a superb plate made by Meissen around 1750. It is the earliest plate in this design and had it fruit on it as well as the flowers it could have been from the original service designed for Heinrich Count of Brühl around 1742 and thus known as the Brühlsches Allerlei . One much more often sees a plate with this design from later periods but to have one from this very early period is a treat! A very stunning plate that has a larger hand painted floral arrangement in the center as well as a smaller arrangement and a few smaller flowers spread around and a very fancy reticulated rim with lots of flowers and gold highlights. Each reticulated area is different with three that are more plain with just a touch of gilding and three more that are in the shape of a floral arrangement with each flower hand painted perfectly! Gold trim to the very edge. It is a stunning look! The same Count is also responsible for the more famous Swan service! The Bruehlsches Allerlei design is one of the nicest rim designs one can own by Meissen! The plate is in great condition with two flowers having some stacking wear along the edge of the well and the rim has a few short firing cracks to the design from when it was made. Visible from the back but not the front sure to the paint. It displays perfectly and is a rare early survivor! It is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark and the usual impressed number one finds on Meissen of this period. The plate is 1.5 inches tall and 10.375 inches in diameter which is a very nice size. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
