Dresden Scene Slipper

This is a superb and fun piece of porcelain made by Meissen in the mid 19th century. It is in the form of a shoe / slipper which is hand painted very nicely with a royal blue ground color, a gold trim around the edges, a reddish trim by the soles, the udnerside has a beige ground color to it and the best part - it has a superb hand painted scenes of the city of Dresden surrounded by a fancy gold trim. A really well done version of the scene with lots of details to it including the Augustus bridge, the Frauenkirche and Hofkirche. Dresden is an amazing city I had the pleasure of going to a few times now. The shoe is in great condition with a touch of wear to the tip which looks to have been colored in to hide it well as shown. The other end seems to ahve been fixed up at the factory a bit as well probably to hide a firing issue. It displays perfectly. Some wear to the underside and an old sticker as well. It is nice that this is a large version of the shoe being 2 inches tall, 6.25 inches long and 2.25 inches wide. It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $749
