Slightly Damaged Set of 4 Plates

This is a set of four plates made by KPM during their early year in about 1770. They are nicely shaped with a basket weave design to the paste of the rims and have a large hand painted flower arrangement in the center with smaller flowers along the edge. The flowers are a bit unusual for this period - larger and less refined than I am used to by them - not sure why. Still very nice! The design of the blank plate would be in the altozier pattern. Each plate has a different floral design to it. KPM used no painters mark like the red orb yet during this period thus you only have the blue scepter and impressed marks as is the case here as well. The mark is one of their early fat and short under glaze blue scepter marks and it has the usual impressed marks as shown along the edge by the foot ring. That includes three lines as a size reference. The plates are in good condition with use marks to the central flowers as well as a small chip or two to the rim depending on the piece as shown. They displays very well as is! Each plate is about 1.25 inches tall and 10 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $299
