Large Reticulated Scenic Basket

This is a really nice reticulated basket made by KPM in the late 18th century. It is not easy to find these early versions in good condition these days. This one is quite fancy with an intricate reticulated wall and puce ling and yellow band design to the outside and handles, a gold trim around the bottom and top inside edge and a really nice polychrome hand painted scene in the bottom center. A really top piece plus larger than any I have owned over the years. The basket is in perfect condition with just a manufacturing flaw on the bottom inside edge as shown - like a divot in the paste and a firing crack from when it was made underneath - invisible when on display. The dish is 4.25 inches tall (including the handles), 11.25 inches wide and 8.625 inches deep. It is marked underneath with their under glaze blue scepter mark as well as some impressed marks normal to these early wares. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $999
