Fun Fleur en Terrasse Cup & Saucer

This is a fun cup and saucer made by KPM in the late 18th or early 19th century. KPM used no painters mark like the red orb yet during this period thus you only have the blue scepter and impressed marks most of the time and sometimes as in this case a blue line as a painter's mark. The set is hand painted with one of my favorite type of designs by them - a version of the famous Fleur en Terrasse motif with different garden flowers all around the cup and saucer on an orangey ground color background with a blue and gold design between the flowers and a bit more gold trim around the well and rim edge. Nice decorative medallion in the center of the saucer. Some of the gilding is raised which KPM did so well. The flowers are of superb quality and the set is just extremely elegant! Love that handle shape from the classical period that was so popular during this time. The set is in decent condition with some light wear to the edges of the rims and two small flakes of the ground under one of the flowers and a very thin flake to the corner of the cup ahndle that was gilded over to hide it and sadly I recently had an accident with one of my cabinets and now the saucer has a chip to the side of the rim (it's not too horrible). The cup is 2.375 inches tall and 2.625 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1.25 inches tall and 5 inches in diameter. Both are marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter, the already mentioned painter's mark and the usual impressed marks. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
