Atlas Design Teapot

This is a very rare small teapot made by KPM in about 1780. KPM used no painters mark like the red orb yet during this period thus you only have the blue scepter and impressed marks most of the time. The pot is handpainted with the rare Atlas design that was extremely popular back then, based on tapestries and only used by a few of the very top makers! Not only do you have the nromal Atlas design features like the short colorful lines at the top but also flowers in the same style which is quite unusual! My favorite thing however is the superb finial on the lid in the form of a lady wrapped in a blanket with gold flowers on it. Nice twisted branch handle finishes the perfect teapot. The pot and lid are in great condition with a little wear to the gold trim, the lid had a small chip perfectly restored and the spout has a very hard to spot small hairline in it. It displays perfectly and is a real beauty! The piece is 5.125 inches tall, 6.875 inches long (including handle and spout) and 3.25 inches in diameter. It is marked underneath with the underglaze blue scepter with the blue line underneath as well as some impressed mark that looks like a V. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
