Rose Cup & Saucer

This is a superb cup and saucer made by KPM around 1780. KPM used no painters mark like the red orb yet during this period thus you only have the blue scepter and impressed marks most of the time and in this case the painters mark is a blue line. The set is handpainted with a superb rose design that goes all around with white and pink roses as well as their leaves and buds. Nice gold trim to the top and bottom with a thin black band and a design to the center of the saucer. Angular handle shape of the later 18th century period which happens to be a favorite of mine :) The set is in super condition with just a tiny bit of gold wear mainly to band in the saucer center. A chip to the saucer footring which doesn't take away from the piece at all. The cup is 2.375 inches tall and 2.625 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 5 inches in diameter. Both are marked underneath with the underglaze blue scepter, the blue painter's mark, an impressed number and a double line which is a size reference of this period.
