Small Floral Terrine

This is a little terrine or tureen made by KPM around 1780. KPM used no painters mark like the red orb yet during this period thus you only have the blue scepter and impressed marks most of the time. It is handpainted with a nice large floral arrangement on the front and back of the main body as well as the lid and smaller flowers on the sides. The flowers are painted in green, gray and pink tones. One tiny bug painted on the underside of the lid and on the inside of the main part to hide a firing flaw. The finial is in the form of an artichoke which is fun and the handles are quite fancy as well. Both are highlighted in green and pink colors. The dish is in great condition with a small rim chip on the main body and some green paint flaking of the finial and one tiny spot on a handle. The lid does not fit 100% but they are original to each other it is just a firing issue. The whole dish is 7 inches tall, 10 inches long and 5.5 inches wide. It is marked underneath with the underglaze blue scepter as well as the typical impressed numbers of this period. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1249
