Cherub Figurine

This is a figurine of a cherub made by KPM around 1760-1770 - during the Gotzkowsky period. The figurine is nicely modeled and painted very well in the really early style. Not sure what he is supposed to be but he does have a tri corner hat under his left arm. So Amor disguised as a teacher?? Figurines by KPM from this period are far from easy to find at all! The figurine sadly has seen better days. While the main body is perfect and has no breaks the sword that goes from behind his left hand to the other side is gone and has been redone in not the best way. The bow on his front neck is gone and partially badly restored, both hands are badly restored, there is a small chip to the bow in his hair and the hat has been worked on. But amazing the head was never off, feet, legs and body are fine as are the arms and even more amazingly the wings are fine as well except for a small shallow chip to one that is very hard to even spot. The piece is not marked and has the look of the early Meissen figures underneath that only the very very early Berlin pieces have. He displays OK and it wouldn't be too bad to have him redone since the main parts are all OK. The figurine is 4.375 inches tall, 2 inches wide and 2 inches deep.
