Pair of Jean Gille Chinese Emperors

This is a magnificent pair of figurines made by Jean Gille. They date to about 1850. This is what his work is all about. The attention to detail on these Chinese emperors is amazing. There are different textures, colors, and glazes. Very real looking except the faces give away that these aren't really Chinese pieces as they look European. These are among the best I have seen in terms of biscuit figures. They are about 7.75 inches tall, 3.75 inches wide and 5.75 inches deep. In great condition but not perfect. He has had work done on one section of the chair but you cannot tell and she had work done on her left chair arm. This includes the lion head side that is mostly covered by her arm, then the black arm part of her chair all the way up including part of the back that is beige with purple stripes. I think the black spindle between the chair the armrest has also been worked on. This was done pretty well and really doesn't take away from the piece. Both are marked with the JG mark on the blue raised piece of porcelain. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
