Hague Meissen Plate

This is a an interesting plate. The shape and painting style is what I would normally associate only with Hague porcelain but it is marked with underglaze Meissen corssed sowrds and their incised numbers. I ahve had Meissen marked Hague pieces before but they were always above glaze marks. The plate is definitely made by Meissen and maybe Hague decorated a marked blank for once or Meissen was asked to make a replacement piece later on? A bit of a mystery. Either way a really nice plate handpainted with a bird scene in the center, a nice blue and gold design with floral garlands in between on the rim and a nice shape to the porcelain itself. A stunning plate! The piece displays perfectly but two ships have been almost perfectly invisibly restored on the rim. You cannot see it unless you shine a very bright light through it. The plater is 1.375 inches tall and 9.75 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
