Grainger Painted Potpourri Vase

This is a nice lidded potpourri dish / vase made by Grainger / Worcester in about the later 19th century. It is a nciely shaped piece with the bottom part is sitting on a triangular shaped base on three feet that are painted in an off white color with the base having a light turquoise ground color and some gold trim to it. The main body has the same ground color and two nicely hand painted frolar arrangements with a reticulated top rim highlighted with gilding. The lid has a hole in the center and has the same ground color and a bit of gold trim as well. Really a nice looking piece! The piece is in nice condition with a touch of wear to the gold trim and crazing to the turquoise ground on the lid which does not detract when on display! The piece is not marked underneath which is not unsual but the shape is a known one for this maker. The vase with the lid in place is 4.75 inches tall and 2.75 inches at the widest part of the base.
