Jean Gille Breast Feeding Lady Figurine

This is a superb figurine made by Jean Gille in about 1850. Another great example of his work. It is of a mother breast feeding her young child in this case meant to symbolize summer. She is wearing some flowers and wheat in her hair, is partially covered in a cloth with a floral design to it and is standing on a nice green base with a wheat sheeth behind her. The front of the base has the inscription ETE meaning Summer in French. The figure is very well modeled and painted superbly. The piece is made of painted biscuit. It is 13.5 inches tall and the diameter of the base is 4.5 inches. In great condition with two chips to the ends of the wheat and a reglued section of the wheat sheeth as shown. All in the back so no issue when on display. I just discovered another chip to a piece of wheat in her hair but it does not take away from her as it blends in with the rest of the decoration. The piece is marked with the JG mark on a blue raised piece of porcelain as well as an incised A as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
