Cris de Paris Honey Seller

This is a rare figure of a honey seller from the famous Cris de Paris (Paris street vendors) series made by Frankenthal in about 1775. My dad did finally find him pictured in a book saying he was holding a muff which seems a bit off to me but it might just be me :) Either way the figurine superbly modeled and painted in the typical Frankenthal fashion of the period. He is 5.5 inches tall and marked with the CT under the crown in underglaze blue underneath. The mark is a bit rough to tell but it is that one and definitely made by them. The figurine is in great condition with some expected minor damage to the bows (on the hat, in his hair and on the beehive), two fingers on the right hand, a leaf on the base. All in all in superb condition for a piece this old and nice. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1999
