Chinoiserie Figurine

This is a great larger chinoiserie figure made by Frankenthal in 1783. It is one of those perfect display pieces since it has something going on all around and is more interesting than the usual single figurines. Still small enough to stick anywhere and it would look superb to say the least! It is of a lady playing a guitar looking instrument likely some Asian design with two children sitting around her on the rock base. The one child is holding a small bell while the other is playing some kind of trumpet instrument. The entire figurine has an Asian flair to it. This figure is amazingly well modeled and painted in the typical Frankenthal fashion of the period. It is about 5.5 inches tall and the base has a diameter of about 5.5 inches. It is marked with the CT under the crown in underglaze blue underneath with the date mark of 83. Also an incised A.C and a number 2 plus an old sticker. The figurine is in amazing condition with just the front of one of the ladies shoes being chipped and the tuning pegs all being chipped off which makes it even and not obvious at all :) There are off course a few manufacturing flaws mainly small firing cracks in the base. An amazing piece and very rare. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $3999
