Bird Scene Cup & Saucer

This is a superb cup and saucer made by Frankenthal in 1772. Both pieces are handpainted with a great bird scene with the bird in a landscape surrounding, lots of small flowers and leaves scattered in the other areas with their typical brown trim to the rim. Really very nice! The set is in great condition with a tiny bit of wear to the high point of the scene on the saucer, 4 extremely minor glaze chips to the underside rim of the saucer, a minor chip to the bottom end of the handle on the cup and a painted over firing flaw on the cup from the making. Both pieces are marked with the CT under a crown as well as incised letters and numbers and the year mark in blue on the footring though the second number on the saucer is more like a dot. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 5.375 inches in diameter. The cup is 2 inches tall and has a diameter of 3 inches. Please email me for more information or photos.
