Tournay Puce Scenic Cup

This is a superb cup made by Tournai in about 1770. It is hand painted with a superb puce scene including two buildings and some rocks and trees. This piece was possibly painted by the famous Henri-Joseph Duvivier (during 1763-71) who is very well known for his puce scenic pieces or even Fidelle Duvivier. The cup is softpaste and has a beautiful creamy white color with a green translucency. There is a nice gold trim to the top rim. The cup is in good condition with a chip to the top rim which isn't too bad and the porcelain paste has some firing flaws in it. One can see moons when held to the light as well. The cup is 2.375 inches tall and 2.625 inches in diameter. It is marked only with an incised circle or D underneath. I have a matching saucer / bowl in exactly this style but it seems too large when set into it so I listed them separately. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $599
